I don't really care for Good Morning America. It is boring corporatist media, but my wife puts it on as she gets ready for work. This morning was the last straw. The two female hosts, one older and blond (because you can't have too many blonds on the teevee) and known for vapid and cushy interviews, and the other known for having recently survived cancer. I am not digging on the other host, I just cannot think of anything that stands out about her. They don't give her any chances to ask hard hitting questions so maybe she would be great if she did, but they don't.
Alas I digress. This episode sucked eggs.
So this morning they are twisting their panties in a bunch about Obama's speech in Cairo and doing their best to be concern trolls and wondering aloud about what "some say." Ugh. Who was their guest? Sean Hannity of the Sean Hannity Freedom Tour at Six Flags. He was in his usual form and they let him rant for five minutes unchallenged for him to twist everything into an "Obama is a secret scary Muslim president" spiel. How is he qualified to opine on a) international affairs, b) Middle East affairs, c) diplomacy, d) anti-American outrage, e) national demographics, f) separation between church and state, and g) truth?
So he writes inflammatory books with American Flag motifs on the cover filled with lies and other slanderous material. So that puts him in the same category as Ann Coulter. Oh wait, they have her on from time to time. Liberal media my ass. It is a big circle jerk with conservagreed guests and milquetoast hosts unwilling or unable to challenge unadulterated bullshit.
So my wife, who is duty bound to disagree with me, says that they have George Stephanopolus (sp?) on and he used to work for Clinton so its all fair. So balance is another former Clinton corporatist staffer who subjects us all to more "some say" BS.
I turned on CNN, which has its faults, but actually had some people that sounded like they had some background in middle east affairs to opine. And they have weather. Woohoo!
I am not watching GMA anymore. I know I will fight with my wife about it, but I am not watching GMA anymore. Oh, and after Hannity, an "exclusive interview" with Jon whatshisname from Jon and Kate plus 8 or whatever that worthless show is about the two people with the 6 kids that are fighting on air about who cheated on whom. My life is so much richer knowing more about that trivial show and its members, not.
